Success in station car park case

I bought a 3 day ticket for a Station car park, but it got blown away when I opened the car door on the second night in the dark and I couldn't find it. Next day put the receipt on the dash, got a ticket issued by CP Plus. Sent email with copy of receipt to their "appeals" email address. Got automated acknowledgement only. 3 months later got demand for £120 from another company.
Sent special delivery letter pointing out 1) Railway bylaws don't say the ticket has to be displayed, only purchased 2) CPN said I was not displaying a valid ticket or voucher, in my view receipt=voucher 3) There was no loss to landowner (since I had paid) so charge excessive. Stated I would not pay unless they got a court judgement, and that I would contest, and claim costs if I won.
Result, they did not accept my argument, but sent email apologizing for delay in responding to "appeal" and said they would cancel the ticket anyway. Sorted

Congrats on sticking it to them. It seems that if you put up a determined appeal more and more are backing down. It can't be down to the £27+vat Popla fee of course.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
