Parking Representations - Please Help!

Hi, I visited London in early Jan and I was stuck on where I could park.

Unfortunately there were no paces in the immediate area so I thought is park overnight on a single yellow. I assumed the restriction would need me to move the car before 830am.

As Id assumed I thought I better double check, so I checked the local parking restrictions online using the Camden council website and the local parking map. This shows the area I had parked to be a 10am restriction so on based on that I opted for a longer sleep!

Ive now had a parking notice so I replied immediately enclosing a copy of the map highlighting the area I had parked. I then received a response ignoring this and asking me to pay the full/increased amount

I wrote back pointing out that the map and info I had I closed had been ignored. The response from Camden Council then inclosed a different and less detailed map contradicting the map I had viewed on the website originally.

I believe I'm right to stand my ground on this, so I'm prepared to challenge this as far as necessary.

I have a representation letter to return that has various check boxes. Do I simply tick the relevant box and return this or do I need to write a letter to accompany this? Please let me know your opinions.

Any help greatly appreciated. I'm new to parking issues!

In the case of any Council-based decriminalised parking enforcement issue I'd recommend that you visit the PePiPoo forum. You will need to register and then post the detail of you case (and may need to provide scanned copies of paperwork you have - "washed" of personal details).

Posters on PePiPoo have a detailed understanding of council tickets and can guide you in more detail than you are likely to receive here.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • When you post on pepipoo collect together all photo's of the area and all sides of all paperwork rec'd from the council, remove personal details but leave dates. A google street view ref of the site would help them.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
