what stars would you leave??

Ok, there has been much discussion about ebay stars for sellers recently so thought i'd get opinions on this.

Overall transaction fine so will leave positive feedback.

however.
Item paid for on 26th Jan.
auction states dispatch within 2 working days.
Not marked as dispatched at all on ebay so I query on the 4th Feb (9 days after purchase) to see if has been sent yet.
Seller responds to say sorry for delay but was sent today (4th feb)
Has arrived today and postage label shows dispatch on the (6th feb, 11 days after purchase, 8 working days not counting sat or sun) so seller lied about dispatch and no further contact.

what stars would you leave??
if i had known then what i know now

Personally I would leave 1* for both dispatch and communication

I would probably go down to a 1 or 2 * for despatch but maybe give them 3 for communication. However, I always have a jolly good think about it first and then leave feedback and stars when I feel comfortable with my decision.

interesting you guys think so low, obviously the blatant lie is affecting the comms score?

would you be tempted to go to a neutral? I'm happy with the goods and postage cost was fine. which is why i was still thinking positive.

Not just the lying, but also not bothering to contact you to let you know it would be sent late/ no explanation of why.

I would certainly be tempted to give them a neutral, but you seem fairly confident you want to leave a positive so don't let some grumpyguts change your decision :D

I would leave a positive, but mark down the dispatch and the comms stars. I have a particular bee in my bonnet about bad comms. We can all have unexpected events which mean we can't dispatch on time, but it takes 2 mins to let customers know.

  • I would leave a positive but with a little note about the delay in postage and mark down the star rating to a 1 for despatch and maybe a 2 or 3 for communications as they did answer you in the end which is, sadly, more than some people do.
