Feeling very pleased as I sold a tiny amount of old gold and silver jewellery for 32.
Checked freepostcodelottery.
Starting to get the hang of Swagbucks. My first Amazon voucher is in sight!!
Not pleased with Valued Opinions at the moment. I hardly ever qualify for anything. I'm just trying to get to the 10 pounds so I can get a voucher and after that I don't think I'll bother any more.
Made a shopping list for tomorrow, and I'm pretty confident it will come in on budget.

we will definitely be baking and going to the library, have a cinema trip planned, a visit to my friends stables where she can ride my friends horse, visiting my grandad for lunch, so am sure we will manage to fill the week without too many cries of "I'm bored!""The greatest wealth is health"

Morning all,
Today I've already:
*Done a big house-clean
*Now doing a bit of cooking to feed guests who are coming for the day tomorrow. Have got dough churning in the breadmaker for chunky wholemeal rolls which I'm going to serve with a bowl of home-made leek & potato soup that I've also just made. (What an economical recipe that is.....I hadn't made it for a while. 3 large potatoes, 3 leeks, 3 cloves of garlic, 3 teaspoons of vegetable stock powder, 1 tbsp oil & a knob of butter & a litre of water & it's made a really big jugful. I never like guests to go home hungry!)
*Making a ginger cake next, chose recipe for which I'd already got all the ingredients in stock as didn't want to be buying extras.
*Done 3 surveys.
*Mended the dehumidifyer with.......brown parcel tape....& it's working!
Still to do:
*Update budgets as did online Sainso's order last night using £12 off voucher code.
*Find curtain material I know I've got packed away somewhere as one of tomorrow's visitors is good at sewing & will be able to see if I can use my current curtains to line the pair of new ones I'm planning to make. (We're doing up the spare bedroom this Spring on a 'spend as little as possible' basis).
*Knit. Only 15 more squares to go :-)
Think that's it for me today. Have a peaceful day, everyone,

Hey all
I'm having a complete nightmare this month and not being DFW at all!
Basically, am going away in about 10 days time and it's a really expensive trip (skiing) which I didn't want to go on in the first place but my friends have bullied me into it (that said, am sure we will have fun) but it's all starting to add up (hidden extras) like lessons, equipment hire, liftpass etc and then lunches, apres ski and kitty.
But depressed about it if I'm honest.
Then further 'unusual' expenses of chipping in for a friend's birthday present and they want us all to give more than usual cos it's a 30th (which is fine but not that welcome at the moment!) and I had to pay for a new lock for my back door as a psycho ex had keys (which he'd given back but I think he has made copies as I kept coming home and finding lights on or things missing) thankfully a friend fitted it so I bought him a bottle of wine to say thanks which was much cheaper than getting someone in but still.....
I guess all I can do is suck it up this month and then try really hard next.
Discovered a load of fab dvds at the library today so going to get them from there for free instead of buying and should broaden my horizons too.
Do the rest of you get depressed when you've been good for ages and then all of a sudden loads of things jump out at you?I want to be a writer0 -
Evenin' all!
Mad day today as we have a VIP event going on, although it does mean free choccies all day!
This is me:
- Checked bank - no change, as usual because I'm not spending it! :rotfl:
- BLD from stores
- Free cake and choccies in work
- Turned all my storage heaters off yesterday in a fit of anger at the electricity bill, but it's freezing in my house now snuggle up in dressing gown
- NSD
- Hung washing on airer and another load on quick wash
- SWITCH STUFF OFF!
- See where I can use my Capital Bonds and perhaps organise a lunch out on Saturday with DB1 and his brood at no cost.
- Had another call about a job that one agency put me forward for a while back, but they wanted someone with Volkswagen experience. New recruitment agency want to put me for it as I have 9+ years at *another German franchise* and VW have been looking for so long he thinks they may drop the "brand experience" tag!
- Definitely sparkled!
JxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
Do the rest of you get depressed when you've been good for ages and then all of a sudden loads of things jump out at you?
Yes - absolutely! It can be really tough and you just plough on but then sometimes a hundred things suddenly seem to need paying for, or in my case I'll just go *&%! it and spend money on something I don't really need and then I'll feel awful about it afterwards.
However, this thread and the Ultimate Feb Challenge are really helping me stay on track now, I have a journal that is full of pay dates and account amounts so I can really see it all coming down, and when something comes along (have just had to have 4 new tyres ) although I don't have money in reserve to pay for it, I can see a way around it by clever budgeting for a couple of months.....then, when the CC debt and my 2 0% finance deals are gone it'll all be about SAVING SAVING SAVING!!
Right...my list for today....
- B/L from stores, ending spending some money at work as I had to stay late this evening and I was uber hungry!
- Checked freepostcodelottery
- Checked online accounts
- Updated sig.
- Although I had to pop in to Mini Mr T's, I only bought the 3 things I needed.
- Re-jigged meal plan for rest of month as had to improvise 2 nights this week after forgetting to take food out of the freezer to defrost!
- Skeleton budgets drawn out for March/April

Morning
Stacey, it is a private carpark or council? You don't have to pay privates ones, it was in Martin email yesterday I'm sure??
Just a quick list for me... I'm going to be over an hour late for work (very late night last night) had to pay for parking this morning because was in such a rush!- Checked bank
- Updated app for parking
- Bought lunch from home
- Will have to stay late at work to make up time
- Try and get to bank at lunch
Bit of a fail today... Went to corner shop and bought snacks, and bought a song off iTunes (I never do this). Think it must of been "waste your money day" for me!!
Going out with bf tomorrow and had budgeted £10 for lunch.. Might just pack our own to save £££
Need to update sig for spends!!0 -
