Anybody used KBR Foreign Exchange, The FX Firm or WorldFirst?

I used to use UltimaMoney, but WorldFirst acquired them, which means I'm back in the 'leap of faith' position (even though these companies are all on the FSA register, when you're trading tens of thousands you want to feel very confident your money isn't going to disappear into a void).

KBR have offered the best rate by a whisker, but their website doesn't have the level of professionalism (online trading possibilities, etc.) that the other two have.

Has anyone used any of these firms? What's your experience?

I've used The FX Firm a few times to transfer amounts of around 2k GBP a time. No problems at all.

More recently I've tended to use https://www.transferwise.com as it's entirely online and therefore a bit more convenient. It's also good for smaller transfers as the fixed fees are low. If were a lot of money I'd probably try to negotiate a pre-booked rate with my bank to get the additional security.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning
  • Thanks Benjus. Transferwise seems to be working with a margin of €0.006 on the volumes I trade, which beats WorldFirst but can't compete with the other two I mentioned. Security is vital, of course, but when a fraction of a cent makes a difference of a few hundred quid then you really have to ask how much you're willing to pay to allay fears that may just be based on nothing more than the look-and-feel of a company's website. But careful decisions are certainly merited, so all advice appreciated. :)
