  • Funny way of interpreting a rise Hamish.

I'd say 0.0% is generally flat.

  • This year we'll be carrying the momentum of Funding for Lending and entrenched low rates. Wouldn't be surprised if the price rises remain strong through the Spring and Summer.

Excitement over a 0% Y-o-Y figure... you guys for real?
  • Fantastic news I will be cracking open a bottle tonight and raising a glass. Homeowners have been under attack by the hpc chain gang and have clearly said NO we will not allow prices to drop

And the actual price of the average house has droped £17 in the month! Seventeen pounds!!! No doubt the affordability index's will take this £17, chew it up, spit it out and state house prices are now incredibly affordable.

Just shows how were all really splitting hairs!

We need something to munch on. All this "just about treading water" is boring.
  • jan 13 is actually down fractionally on jan 12 so it's really -0.0%.

a key snippet from the summary:

"11 out of 13 UK regions saw annual price falls during 2012".

so it's a stretch to say that prices are rising.

an absurd stretch to claim that any prediction of rises during 2013 is anything more than pure guesswork.
    FACT.

Great news Hamish, particularly in light of the strengthening in the LR figures

Are all the main indices now positive?

None of the indices now show prices falling, and the rises are accelerating in most.

Land Registry, Halifax, ONS, and Acadametrics are all positive year on year.

Nationwide has jumped from negative 1% yoy last month to a flat 0% yoy this month. Looks like it will go positive soon.
