You haven't told us what it was doing (or not doing) in the first place......
Edit - And it's not Nissan, it's clearly a franchised dealer, the two are entirely different entities.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Is your caps lock on by accident, or are you deliberately shouting? What's your problem with the car?0

Does it have electrical power steering?
Edit; Apparently is has. So what is the nature of the problem?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
Assuming that it's the steering that is the problem;

Because whether a 'proper' diagnosis was done in the first place, or whether it was an 'it could be' are two different things.
I got rid of a Ford S-Max about 18 months ago, as our fleet manager thought it could be one problem, and it was actually diagnosed to be another ('07' plate car, 320k-ish miles and in need of 2 tires, service, new turbo etc shortly anyway). A repair bill of £6000 for me simply wasn't worth it, with a car worth about £5k afterwards. Didn't stop me buying another one, though!
In your case, it may well be steering, and Micras are known for having power steering problems.

The first thing to go with battery and/or alternator failure is the electric power steering.
There is a second hand motor on EBay for £150 or new for £350. The dealer price will be well over £500.
So buy one and send the car to an independent garage. I haven't a clue how tricky it is to get in and out but could be anything from an hour to 5 hours (or more if it is well buried).
The only question would be is a second hand unit worth the risk?0 -
Shouldn't the thread be re-titled to something like 'My car has broken - I'm annoyed'?0
