Flippin' heck! Fruit Gums!

Haven't had any of these or years and saw them on offer in Sainsburys, so I got some. Either my memory Is fading badly or these fruit gums have shrunk in size. They are tiny! I'm sure they never used to be so small.

They are smaller and they're much softer than they used to be. A packet used to last forever because all you could do was suck them.

True, but now there's only a chance that they will. It used to be practically guaranteed :D
  • Maybe it's just me, but they are sooo tiny now. Also, I looked at single Wagon Wheels, ( a playground staple growing up in the 70's) they are teeny tiny too!
  • I was just going to say they are not the only shrinkers - I agree that Wagon Wheels seemed twice the size when I was a child, when we got one with a cup of Bovril as a treat in the swimming baths cafe after our weekly swim session!

  • I know they are in the process of developing smaller fruit gums that are half the size and you get twice as many in a bag. I worked in food marketing and I know it was something they were looking into about a year ago. Maybe you picked up one of the new bags, or they are running a trial in your area.... Oh they are just short changing you.
