Selling stuff...not ebay ?

Anyone know of any good auction style selling sites...not ebay. I have been with ebay for about 6 years as a buyer and a seller and loved selling my stuff on there. About 4 months ago they suspended my seller account ' indefinately '. This was because my DSR's ( direct seller ratings to those of you not in the know ) fell below an acceptable ( to them ) rating. I was a little slow in getting my parcels posted. This was because I had taken on different hours at work for several months to cover for a colleague who was seriously ill and couldn't get to the post office as often. I clearly stated on my listings how long it would be before I was able to post but a couple of buyers still marked me unfavourably, which made me ratings fall under a certain percentage so ebay in their wisdom stopped me from selling. I have to say at this point, in case any of you are thinking I'm a wrong 'un....my feedback was constantly at 100% ..for 6 years !!
Anyway, I have pleaded, begged and finally abused :rotfl: ebay for their ridiculous stance and its got me nowhere. I have even opened up another account in a different name...but I was rumbled..they were cleverer than me.
It would be very helpful if I could sell some of my stuff...suggestions anyone ?
I don't feel that I have enough t do a car boot sale with, even with a friend.

I have been taking DVDS etc to one of the "instant cash" type shops that have sprung up. You dont get much for them but its a lot less stressful than ebay.
Im getting cheesed off with buyers marking me down for postage although I only charge the actual postal cost to me & nothing for packing.
If you have a good spring clean you will probably find more than enough for a car boot, kitchen cupboards are a good source of carp you rarely use.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
I've sold a few items on Gumtree but it's nowhere near as popular as eBay. Another way is to have a Car Boot sale, which I've used very successfully on a few occasions, usually making £100+ each time. Make contact with friends and relatives and beg, borrow or steal items from them they no longer want. Another ploy is the Garage Sale, which my ex and I did on one occasion, making about £300."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. I was going to suggest the same as hotwinter, I've sold loads of bigger items on the Facebook sites like furniture and lots of toys. It's good because there's no postage as I state collection only. I have had a lot of people asking me to knock the price down (it's like doing a car boot from your sofa lol) Worth a try though xSealed pot member #1950 - £44.79
