Tesco wrecking my credit file for 10 years - no resolve!

Tesco persistently report to my credit file an account' unpaid for 6+ monhts' Every single month! It doesnt default or anything, been there since 2003, it looks like an open account.

Ive asked them, they cant find me on the system. Ive told Experian to remove it they say its with Tesco customer service.
I asked Tesco for a credit agreement, they said I needed to provide more information as they cant find me (??)
I told the data controller to remove me, I got another letter saying I had to call customer service, which I did, but as Im not on their system they couldnt help me.
I went to the Financial Ombudsman, they said its been 12 months since my original complaint and so they cant help.

This is driving me insane! It looks like Im not paying something... that hasnt defaulted.. like an open account... 6 months or longer, every month it reports this and no-one can remove the entry!

I just want it gone!

Possibly worth putting a notice of correction on your credit file in the meantime? Does it just show on experian or also on equifax & callcredit?
If it does show on equifax then I would ask them to investigate as well as experian.

Then another letter to the data controller I guess? stating that their previous reply that you contact customer services is of no use to you as they are totally unable to help.

Send a formal letter stating that unless the issue is addressed within seven days, and all of the erroneous data is removed, you will instruct a solicitor regarding obtaining a court order forcing them to comply and compensation for the distress caused, time spent and punitive damages.

Provide them with your details, all contact details, and a limited copy of the credit report with the notes upon it, make sure your details and any reference numbers are visible.

State that you will not call their Customer Services Team due to previous inaction, but will now require all further communication in writing, with a view to all being presented to the court and the credit reference agencies.

Insist that they either confirm the details of the alleged debts, or write to the credit reference agencies using the references on your reports to confirm that the markers are being applied in error and should all be removed. You require copies of these letters for your records. They should also take all reasonable steps to ensuse that no further markers are applied.

Send the letter recorded and entitle it Notice Before Action. This gives them seven days to respond.

    Good luck.
