Hi -
I don't know the right terms to explain this... sorry!
I have previously asked about moving my staircase, but I have had a spanner put in the works... my consumer unit (which needs replacing) and utilities metres will also need to be moved.
How do I do this? (well not me personally) what are the likely costs involved? who would do it? Do I need a plumber for the gas and water, and electrician for the elecriticty?
Thanks
L

On the electric side of things quite a big job to move a consumer unit and meter.
Sparky for the consumer unit likely to be several hundred £'s plus the whole house will need to be fully tested afterwards.
The meters have to be done by your electricity supplier, again not cheap likely to be between £500 and 1kYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Thanks - already got the consumer unit sorted (£375 incl all the checks).
I'm with Scottish power for both gas and electric - to I just phone them up and say can I make an appointment to move it? Is it that easy?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. Unless Scottish power provide your electric they wont be able to help, its the district network provider you need. I am with scottish power but Northern power grid are the suppliers. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Thanks Muckybutt. How do I find out which grid I'm on? I'm in North London if that makes a difference.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. Hi Ladyhawk
Here's the information for your distributor, UK Power Networks http://www.ukpowernetworks.co.uk/internet/en/connections/
You'll need to call us to book a job to reconnect the meter. Best if you book the service cable move for the morning and we'll book rconnection in the afternoon. Just call us on 08452 700 700 (This is assuming we are your supplier)
For moving the gas supply here's the page on National Grid
http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Connections/GasServices/MoveMeter/
You'll need to arrange a gas safe engineer to connect your property back to the meter at the new location. If you need any further assistance, please e-mail us at onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com
