Sorry, a little rant!

Hi all,
Totally pointless post I know but it is driving me crackers! I've been browsing kids clothes on eBay this morning looking for a few bargains and I am absolutely amazed at some of the postage costs! I saw a babies tshirt for 99p but the postage was £4.80??! Do people seriously pay this?!
As a seller I try really hard to put accurate postage costs as I hate being ripped off but it seems others just don't care. I was going to bid on a few items this morning but didn't bother due to rip off postage costs.
Rant over!!

Think your allowed £4.75 postage which i think is wayyyyy to generous. Limit should be the cost of 1st class packet. I give free post now or charge £1.99 for 2nd class.
People will still bid if they want the item but that's what the stars are there for, they won't last long as an eBay seller with them postage prices.
On another note have you tried mums net or gum tree for baby clothes, NCT have nearly new sales on in halls that you could try

I know it's annoying and with all the free listings it's unnecessary. I'm selling my kids clothes and list on free listing with start prices of at least £1.99 usually higher cos there's some nice stuff and charge £2.50 p&p or less if it can go large letter. Even then I get the odd 3 or 4 star on P&P so they won't be around for long at all!0

If I think the postage price is excessive, I just move on to the next listing.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Its people trying to avoid high ebay fees - as you pay ebay a percentage of the final selling price - but not postage!
EBay used to be quite strict on this but seem to rely more on the stars feedback now so that sellers who list with high postage hopefully get punished that way instead.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
I only charge what it costs me, no more no less, and in some cases I've been known to refund a slight cost due to the fluctuation of a price since I listed the item, or I've found a courier that will ship it cheaper. I tend to put, "The postage will be xx, anymore and I'll stand it, any less and I'll refund the difference."That's my mutt in the picture above.0

The £4.75 is also for those selling bundles of clothes, hence it gets abused by idiots selling single items who think they can cheat ebay fees by bumping up the postage.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
