Carbon Monoxide Reading

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what a "normal" CO reading would be in a room with a gas fire on.
Thanks

    my alarm reads zero ,

    world health organisation guidelines
    • 100 mg/m3 (87 ppm) for 15 min
    • 60 mg/m3 (52 ppm) for 30 min
    • 30 mg/m3 (26 ppm) for 1 h
    • 10 mg/m3 (9 ppm) for 8 h
  • Should be zero. If there is any carbon monoxide produced then there is a dangerous problem with the combustion. Only carbon dioxide should be produced by a correctly functioning gas fire.

It should be zero although the alarms take an average over a period of time. If the average rises beyond what is regarded as the safe limit, the alarm sounds. I have had one go off once in a caravan when the flue for the gas fridge got knocked off. Well worth having, in my opinion.
