    Why should He? The recent explosive growth in the High street was based on consumer debt.

    It should have been blinking obvoius back in 2008 that the high street was done for.

    Its hardly a productive part of our economy anyway imho.

    I wonder what percentage of consumer spending has moved from the High Street to the internet over this past few years.

    During this time I have purchased most of my white goods on the internet because of the price difference plus they get delivered to my door.

    In the specific way that the "coalition" doesn't support the posters political affiliation or, possibly, favourite colour?

    the internet still only accounts for about 10% of retail spending
