A little mortgage application success goes along long way...
" a life we could only dream of "
Dreaming is a pointless exercise if it only serves to reinforce your own limitations.
For my familys sake I no longer dream, I will plan and I will try and if I fail I will try and try again.
Failing is far better than dreaming. :)

In September i applied for my own mortgage, applied on the Wednesday, the following tuesday i had my mortgage offer.

To be honest people come on here when they have issues, very few people come on here to say how good the process was. Dont worry.

I managed to get a mortgage approved in about 2 hours and had a mortgage offer within a week back in November. I thought it was going to be really difficult due to OH salary structure but it went v smoothly in the end. 90% LTV, perfect credit. Tiny bit of debt and a dependant.

Was a few years back. Concluded the whole transaction in 18 days. Both sale and purchase.

Though back then C&G was still a building society, and house being sold was p/ex.

Having all the relevant offices on the same High street worked as well. As documents could be walked between.

Took a mortgage application at lunch time on the Friday.

Wandered up to the valuer's office above my branch. Valuation carried out at 2.30pm.

Mortgage offer printed off at 4pm and walked round to the solicitor.

    Case completed the following Friday.

We applied for our Clydesdale mortgage through our broker on 13th Sept, offer arrived 21st Sept. Completion took place on 17th Oct (delayed by a couple of weeks by some legal issues which were no fault of our solicitor). Bought through Foxtons who were a pleasure to deal with, efficient, professional and friendly
  • It's so good to hear that the process can run smooth. Were nervous already and we haven't even applied yet :)

Most lenders go through without too many hick ups - some more so than others. It depends on your circumstances and how fussy the lender is.

If your in full time employment no adverse credit and not looking to stretch yourself financially then there shouldnt be any problems.

Basically do not believe the rubbish spouted in the press, lenders are keen to lend, rates are probably the lowest they have been for 30-40 years, provided you have a good credit history deals are out there up to 90 or even 95%, although if you believe the press you need at least 25% deposit.
