Where do I complain? What do I do? Help :)

Hello All,
I'm after some much needed help, here's why....
Back in April 2011 I defaulted with Santandar current account for £217. This was due to unfair bank charges I was disputing and I refused to pay. They then issued a default notice on my account etc etc.
I left it thinking it would go away once the bank charge issue was cleared up. Which they refuse to refund me, they say the charges were fair, even though they took them out on the 29th knowing I wouldn't get paid until the 30th, and created a vicious spiral etc (I was back as a admin person when this happened on £15k year and just keeping my head above water as it was, however I also could have been better at managing it also).
So In november (23rd) to be exact I paid it all back via Robinson Way who were then my DCA's, I have the bank statement & letter from RW to confirm all paid. However they did not update the default to show settled. So I emailed them, and they replied by post with 'You need to speak to Santander' Basically.
So I lodged a complaint on Equifax, who contact Santandar on 10/12, who responded with you need to contact the collections & recoveries department to resolve this issue.
So I have, Numerous times, all with no answer (On hold 20 mins plus each time!) I dont have all the time in the world to sit on hold and Ive tried morning, afternoon and even just now. NOTHING.
My account was paid in full 23/11 and it is still showing as a big FAT D on my account, and that is only my onle 'bad' marker now. Who do I complain too? How do I complain etc? Any advice greatly appreciated, its stressing me out now! I thought I'd get it paid and thats it, done dusted. I've settled it (Cant be bothered to argue, and I now earn a considerable amount more then I did).
Why can't they do their end of the deal and just update it?!
Many thanks in Advance as always!

Point is the default IS correct as you did default, even though you disputed the debt and have paid it off via their DCA.
The default will be removed 6 years after it was issued.0 -
Is the balance showing as zero?0

Antonic is correct, the default is correct and will stay there for 6 years becuase it is a true record of your credit history.
You should have paid the disputed charges and then dealt with them.
Your refusal to pay them has resulted in the rest of it.
Not much you can do I;m afraid.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You miss understand!
I don't want the default removing! I want it updating to show settled because I've paid the balance! I know how the financial system works!
When you pay a default off in full the big far D every month should be replaced with an S for settled!
It looks much better then a continuous line of D's!
Now the default is paid in full but it is still showing as outstanding! I cannot get hold of Santander for love or money so want to pursue a complaint down the correct channels to get it updated!Complete Crazy Clothes Challenge £80/£100 :T

You'll still have a bad marker when it is settled so I don't really understand the urgency. It won't be done and dusted until the 6 years are up.
You need to contact the department you've been told to contact - find out if there is an address you can write to, or an email address. Try phoning as soon as the lines are up and running.0
