Online Shopping

What do you think is the best online shopping supermarket?

I prefer to do one big shop when I get paid for pasta, rice, tins, bottles, jars, freezer etc and then fresh bits each week from Aldi.

I normally shop Tesco but finding the prices increasing?

What do you all think?

thanks

I have tried Abel & Cole, ASDA, Foodari, Iceland, Ocado, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose home delivery services because I really don't like the chore of shopping.

I'm always wary when someone asks for " the best" because I'm never sure whether the poster means the best or the best priced and they aren't necessarily the same.

I would recommend Ocado and Waitrose. Ocado has a lower than Tesco price promise on brands, the customer service is fantastic, they have a bigger range than any supermarket, 1 hr delivery slots and some free slots. Minimum order is £40. Waitrose does free delivery all the time, it matches Tesco brand prices and again fantastic customer service.

ASDA and Sainsbury's most likely brand match to Tesco but with ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's you get silly subs, mistakes, not very good customer service and yo yo pricing.
  • I've only used Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado. I agree with Edwardia that the first two make ridiculous substitutions. Have been using Ocado exclusively for a couple of years now (weekly) and have only ever had one or two substitutions, both of which were sensible and acceptable. The Tesco price-match is great, and their customer service people are brilliant.

Everyone has they're personal choice, then 1 region for say Tesco could be different to another region in terms of customer service or choice of subs given.

If you dont mind paying for substitutes then go for 1 where you pay the price of the sub eg if you get 1 from Tesco you pay the price of the item you originally ordered whereas if you get an item subbed from Sainsburys and choose to accept it you pay the price for the sub.

I agree with Edwardia about what the OP deems as the best.
