    I think we're supposed to be celebrating the creation of a new house price index. The Hamish Mctavish First Time Buyer Index. Of course it will only be published if the index is positive.

    we are celebrating house prices getting even more out of reach for the average person in the uk , i suppose it's the same as the stock market rises this week as the usa announced it wasn't going to deal with it's debts , :beer:beers all round ;)

    Sadly, some posters here liked to see the million potential FTB-s prevented from buying through mortgage rationing.

    They thought this would give them the "next leg down".

    They were wrong of course.

    It just made rents soar to record highs instead.
