As above, you dont have anything to worry about unless you were perhaps going in every week with something needing detagged

I imagine most shoplifters will have their own tools to remove the tags

Reminds me, I once went clothes shopping with hubby, close to christmas, so we had done a fair bit of shopping, gave him some clothes to hold while I browsed and tried everything on etc. Then we decided we would split up as we were short of time, so he left me in the shop so he could get on with what he needed to do.
He was several shops away before he realise he HAD walked out with a pair of jeans over his arm, complete with tag, not paid for at all, and no alarm went off (although it did on the way back in when we went to return them!)

Returned to shop and tag removed. She did ask for the receipt and I did get an apology.0 -

I had this happen to me at Xmas . Bought slippers online from Bank for myself. Daughter wrapped them and only discovered xmas morning as they were sheepskin boot and tag wasn't visible till I went to put them on. Just thought they were tied tog not tagged tog. Had to take a trip 30 miles away and to get into shopping centre had to pass through H&M, Yes I tripped alarm on way in and way out. I did approach staff and tell them. Funnily when i went into Bank no alarm activated.
Staff were appaling. I explained I bought them in October and she asked for reciept. I had already explained I only had online receipt. Apparenty this wasn't good enough ! Then they didn't have that kind of security tag. Then they would have to call Glasgow and they would have to fax a copy of my receipt. By this time I was peed off and said if they couldn't remove it just to give me my mney back as I was hacked off. After 30 mins I finally got tag removed !I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0
