Timeshare get out

We need to sell our timeshare, due to the increased cost of maintenance fees, flight travel and holiday insurance, plus ok our age! The Timeshare Advisory people say you have to show 'misrepresentation ie things were not as stated in Contract. My grouse would be that we were given some pretty ropy accommodation, ie Lock-Offs instead of the 5 Crown we were exchanging. Any advice please. The resort threatening us is Las Calas, Lanzarote.

You should be seeking the advice of a solicitor.

I very much doubt the quality of temporary accommodation you were offered at exchange means you can get out of the contract. You may have to sell it on to some other poor soul.

You could try the legal board at fool.co.uk but IMHO you'll be best off with proper legal advice. Many lawyers will give you an initial consultation for free or very cheaply, that way you'll know whether it's even worth pursuing the legal angle.

I agree, you need proper legal advice. Though I can't see what your issue is tbh. You aren't going to win on the reasons that you have stated - timeshare fees always go up, that's inflation for you. Mine have too and I have a really good timeshare (Disney Vacation Club). Fares have gone up but you can't blame the company for that and same with insurance, or your age.

In terms of the lock-offs, I'm not sure what your issue is. Did you swap your points or is that what you got when you bought in? I prefer lock-offs. In DVC you get more facilities with one of those (an extra kitchenette and balcony) so it isn't a straightforward argument to say that they are worse.

You are definately on the wrong forum here. Your question to the average poster on here will be like a red rag to a bull. Someone buying a second property so they could better enjoy their life - how very dare you.
