Rigid insulation

I'm looking for insulation (polyurethane 50mm) to go under underfloor heating pipes on top of a suspended concrete floor and could do with some info as to where to buy it.

Most places I've tried (trade suppliers and retail) tend to only sell in pallet loads as it is normally a delivery upon order from the suppliers with minimum order quantities. It is available at reasonable cost (it's not cheap) from a couple of locations I've found but then the deliver charge makes it a bit prohibitive (more than the cost of 1 sheet!!)

I just need 2 sheets 2400mm x 1200mm, 50mm thick (or the equivalent) of the dense type for higher loading weight and inserting pipe clips such as Celotex FF 4000 or Kingspan equivalent (K7 I think) so if anyone knows a supplier, or some one with a surplus) I would be most grateful.

b&q sell it, what area are you from someone might know of a different shop to try.
  • Jewsons sell it by the sheet as well, but as you say delivery is an issue. (I might be cutting mine to size in the parking lot) They do not have Kingspan, but they have an equivalent.

Bit out in the sticks so no B&Q close by, HTH! (Southern Scotland).

Have tried most local builders merchants and 'ordinary' insulation is available but not the higher density/spec underfloor insulation stuff (by the sheet anyway as it is not normally a stock item!). However must admit have not tried Jewsons yet so (thanks to Slowly Does It) will give them a try.

Ruski the normal common rigid insulation is readily available at the price you quote but the FF4000 is usually over £25 per 50mm 8x4 sheet and some places a great deal more!! If you can post where you got it at £15 a sheet then the carriage would perhaps not be so much of an issues!!

    Thanks for the responses.
