Plumbing woes, please help

We have 3 plumbing issues at the moment, 2 of which might be connected but Im not sure
The first is that we have some rads which have thermastatic valves. Ive only ever used the valves in the front bedrooms and they seemed ok. Recently we had some friends staying and they always want the house boiling hot so I turned the valve in our room down to zero so that the heating wouldnt come on in the night in our room.
It didnt work, the rad is just as hot no matter where you put the dial on the valve?
The second problem we have is that the bathroom sink taps sometimes dont turn on, first turn, you have to sort of turn them on and off a few times to get the water coming out. They both drip and we thought we had fixed them a while back but then the cold tap especially seemed to become dislodged from the sink, so as you turn the tap off, the tap actually swivels round. The water not coming out doesnt always happen, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt and sometimes it only takes one 'off/on' before it works, sometimes it takes several.
The third problem is that about a month ago, the hot water, stopped being hot, its more lukewarm. You can sort of get hot water if you have the water coming out as a dribble but even then its a bit unreliable. Prior to this, the hot water was really hot, so hot that it would scald you if you held your hand under it after a long while, which is just how I like it for a shower. At the moment, I can use the electric shower but I have never liked that shower as its not as strong as the normal shower attachment. This problem is throughout the house, not just in the bathroom. It took me nearly half an hour to run a bath the other night.
The heating is not affected, the rads are nice and hot. The hot water problem happens when the heating is on and off, not just at one time.
We have a combi boiler and nothing has changed on it. We havent had the problem before and have lived here 3.5 years.

Check your diverter valve for the hot water/hot rad problem. I`m not an expert, though.Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!

ok, where do we find the diverter valve, we have a sime friendly format 100e combi boiler
i have googled for any problems with that particular boiler but cant really find anything in particular coming up0 -
Had the same problem with the diverted valve on our combi, took ages for the hot water to heat up when the demand should go to the hot water first. Ended up having to buy a new boiler which now uses app 30% less gas than previous old boiler.0

i should add that when we turn on the hot taps, the boiler does fire up. im reading about the diverter valves and they seem to prompt the boiler to turn on, is that right?
if so, if the valve was faulty why would the boiler turn on?0 -

They divert water to either the heating or the taps but not both. On mine the diverter valve diverts hot water to the taps when the taps demand it. Yours may be seized up maybe because it sounds like it isn't diverting properly. (I only overhear these bits from my dad so I'm no expert; far from it!)"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -

i dont really understand that, if we turn on the hot tap now for instance, the boiler fires up but apart from a dribble of hot or a lot of luke warm water, no other hot water is around, the heating isnt on a the moment so no hot water is going to the rads, so if the valve is stuck in one place, where is the hot water going?
the rads and the hot water have worked together in the past, we can (or should if the water was working) have hot water and heating on at the same time0
