Transferring overdrafts to a credit card

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could answer this Q for me??

I recently posted a thread about my extortionate overdrafts. I was told that I could myabe transfer them onto an egg credit card. What is the limit I could get with a 12700 pa salary? My overdrafts are 3000 and 1000 respectively!

My credit score isnt that good at the mo, so shoould i wait a while?

Cheers
Louise

It's impossible to say. Every lender has their own scoring system. Whilst they all include your record, they also take into account your salary, your age, your current debts and possibly even your postcode.

No-one can predict what they might offer you and I'm not sure that "waiting a while" will achieve anything - it depends on what, exactly, is on your credit record.

    Hi loubie_lou,

I did the same as what you are trying to do. I went for a egg credit card in February 2005. I'm a 25yr old on 15000k and they gave me 1250k. Last month I tried to increase my credit limit but I got refused (didnt tell me why)

My credit score it not too good either, I've only been living in my current house since January 2005. I paid off a 8k car on finance when I was 19, not sure if this goes for/against a credit score. I really need to pay off a £600 argos store card as the 29.8APR is killing me.

Not sure if I could apply for another card......

if you apply online, when replying to your application(normally a couple of mins) they should give you your credit limit there and then.
even if you dont get the full amount its still worth using what they give you, just remember to have your OD reduced by the amount you pay off as its all interest saved.

you can also apply for your credit score info which is very useful as it lists all your debts past and present.
