Restoring a soaked 1940s panel door

Being nosey the other day I noticed that the neighbours next-door-but-one had an internal door on the back terrace so I asked them if they were getting rid of it, as it matches mine and I'm missing one (previous owners had removed an original door and replaced it with a plastic concertinas door).
Anyway, they gave me the door that they did not want, but it has been outside for quite a while, probably quite a few weeks and is very wet.
I have put it flat on the floor to try to prevent it warping.
My plan is to get it and the others dip stripped as they come up very well. Do I need to let it dry out completely first, or does it not matter as the stripping is a wet process?
