Bosch tumble dryer drum spitting out Stanley blades

Have got the wtv74104 and the drum front rim is falling to bits.firstly it sounded bit rough, so stopped it and found a a sharp piece of metal
(Looked like a broken Stanley blade) in the drum, so it turns out the rim of the drum is breaking up which is not surprising as it looks paper thin.the dryer is just over 2.5yrs old & out of warrenty.
Has anyone else experienced this.,it only gets used 4 months of the year.
