Honest FB or bite my tongue?

Buyer won auction and didn't pay straight away (no problem with this) so I sent an invoice, then another on day 3 asking politely if they still wanted the item. No reply so NPB on day 4. They then paid.

I sent item next day via standard parcels. Got an impatient 'where is my parcel' 2 days after that. I sent v polite reply asking if they hadn't received it by the weekend (still within estimated delivery time) to please let me know.

After weekend I get feedback stating 'received', then an email asking me to leave them feedback!!

So what feedback do I leave? I don't sell much so don't know how much value is placed on buyer feedback. Shall I be honest to warn other sellers and remind this buyer that they were not the perfect buyer or just forget about it and leave a generic 'thanks' or none at all?

Advice appreciated.

As a seller, you can only leave positive feedback for your buyer.

It's not permitted to leave a negative comment against the 'green dot'.

If you are not happy and don't think positive feedback is appropriate, then don't leave any feedback at all

  • what about 'took 4 days to pay but we got there in the end'?

Would be classed as negative if the buyer complained. Best not to try and use weaselly words - the sentiment is negative and that's what would count.

Buyers have eight days to pay - so although they didn't play by your rules - they did actually pay so eBay wouldn't regard that as good and other people who do look closely at these things might think you a bit stroppy without being able to see the additional context.

As per Goldie I would just ignore the buyer.

  • Feedback is optional, why not leave none.
  • You are both absolutely right, I should ignore it if I can't be positive.

<sigh> had a really bad day and would have relished leaving 'honest' feedback. Oh well.

    Thank you.
  • Block them from buying again if you dont want to have the hassle of them.
