Help! Shower leaking - need help with sealing it

Our shower was retiled a couple months ago. This morning we found water dripping (into an electric socket - eek) when someone was showering. It seems that where the bottom of the tiles meets the plastic shower tray the grout has cracked/come loose.

The tiles are just ordinary ceramic ones.

Any ideas what product we should use to seal between tile and shower tray?

It shouldn't be grouted between bottom of tiles and shower tray it should be silicone sealant. Grout sets solid. You have movement and the grout has just popped out. Who was the muppet that grouted it?

Dig it out clean the surfaces up and seal it properly. Actually get the nitwit back that grouted it and get him to do it properly for free.

BTW if the tray is moving then in due time the silicone will fail as well. Tray should have been installed on totally stable surface at installation.

    Cheers

  • Thanks so much, i should just msg you directly Keystone!

We paid quite a bit to get it tiled but we don't want the hassle or the delay involved of getting him back so as it's something we (read, the OH) can do we'll just get on with it because having the shower out of order is miserable!
