santander 123 current account

I opened a 123 account last month and told everything up and running. Just received an email today advising I had to contact all suppliers to set up new direct debits. So this account is,nt as easy to set up as they led me to believe. Beware!

We changed to 123 a month ago. No problem.

Monies credited to the account yesterday.

    No talk of DD.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.
  • Have you received any cashback yet? .My account was set up with no problem but they did,nt tell me I had to contact all suppliers to change the direct debits.

Did you opt to use their Direct Debit switching service?

I moved from Natwest to a Santander Preferred account at the beginning of this year and all of my Direct Debits and Standing Orders were switched automatically by Santander. I anticipated all sorts of things going wrong and kept adequate money in both accounts, but it all went smoothly.

I opened a Santander 123 bank account last month, but I didn't want to move all of my Direct Debit over to it, so opted to move them manually.

I suspect you didn't opt for the automated service.

Switching Direct Debits isn't difficult. I switched the ones I wanted to switch online. It only took a few minutes.
  • Thanks everyone. Have phoned Santander and they say my account is OK and the e mail they sent is a mistake.
