New kitchen advice

Hi guys,
We've just moved into our new flat and need to replace the aging kitchen.
It's L-shaped and pretty small but as well as new units we want to haveall the appliances fitted at the same time (Washing machine, fridge, cooker).
We went in to B&Q at the weekend and the instore advisor said they would behaving a sale between mid Dec and mid Jan.
This is our first property so not sure about the varying quality available.
For a new kitchen + appliances who would be the best out of: B&Q,Magnet, Howdens or Wicks?
We don't want to necessarily do it on the cheap (we'd quite like solid woodsurfaces) but we don't want to get ripped off by paying for a "name"either.
All help would be much appreciated.

My quote from B & Q (supply of kitchen only) was more expensive than both Howdens and Magnet Trade by quite a bit.0

and probably added together too.
