Courier that collects?

House bound at the moment, can't get to post office, need to send parcel at equivalent special delivery (but doesn't need to be next day).

Comments

  • if it's not too big to carry, and it's already stamped or postage paid (you can download and print from the royal mail website) you might be able to give it to the postie.

    Otherwise try interparcel.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

I use GWhizz Couriers, who use UPS. Good value for anger items.

Collect+ are cheap. You pay and print off a label at home, then take it to a nearby shop. Surely you have a kind neighbour who would be willing to help.

    Good luck in your venture

    Another vote for Interparcel.

I have used them for years with no problems.

The courier will collect from your home or wherever you specify.

I generally choose the Hermes option as that is the cheapest. I have had no problems with Hermes but others advise avoiding them.

Interparcel have plenty of other options.

    Get well soon. :)

If it's an Ebay item you can book and pay for Parcelforce via Paypal, you can get the service a bit cheaper shopping around but that's the most straightforward.

It's £11.99 (inc VAT) for 48 hour UK wide service insured for £50.

I'd be wary of using Hermes or Yodel at this time of the year. Yodel especially have already stated they will stop collections when they get too many Christmas parcels.

UPS offer a good service if you're happy with the price and terms..

  • What's the best service/price for a parcel around 8kg and insured for £1000

On parcel2go, they seem to want to charge around £50, which seems expensive considering the royal mail special delivery is £25. Unfortunately not an option as I can't get to the PO atm.

For high value items like this I would only consider SD. Can you ask someone to take it to the PO for you? Make sure you get sufficient cover as basic SD only covers up to 500.
