No, but international payments are less when you fund using your bank account or direct from your paypal account. Charges will be much higher if you use a debit or credit card.0

So i will need to verify my bank account to my Paypal account?0

Yes, and then pay the fees for their service.0

Any idea what the fees are?0

from the paypal website:
It’s free to send money to friends and family when you use your PayPal balance or bank account as your funding source.
have you tried looking up the paypal website? google is your friend...The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Don't use Paypal. Their entire business model and existence is based on profiteering from moving money from "A" to "B" in a "simple"/"no hassle"/"safe" way. There will be cheaper alternatives out there, but unfortunately, right at the moment I have no suggestions (given that I've never had to move money to the US). Look elsewhere, perhaps even talk to your own bank for options!0

If you're son is in the US I think they have ACT or AHT now. Anyway, my point is, that's a whole lot cheaper than just using paypal. Better yet, direct bank transfer. You just have to check their rates.0

I should have said that when i am sending money to my son i send it in sterling not US dollars.
Jensha what are ACT or AHT?0 -

You may want to look again, international payments are not free.
I'd also be surprised if you find a bank that does free international payments.0
