Equivalent to TalkTalk's Talk 3 International deal?

I was just wondering, are there any equivalent (or near enough) deals to the Talk 3 International plan on TalkTalk? It was a pretty good deal, with free local/national calls, and free international calls when you enter a prefix, for £20.99 a month...

But for several million reasons that I won't go into here (!!) we don't want to be with Talk Talk anymore...

We were looking at BT's Option 3, with the added international thingy, which would give us all our UK/Ireland calls for free, and other international calls at 3p per minute, for £21.99 a month, but I was wondering, are there any better deals out there, before we commit to this?

We would call the Republic of Ireland a lot, occasionally Italy and the US, and if there was a discount for Norway, that'd be great... (My housemate is Norwegian, but her mum tends to call her, so its not that crucial... Norway wasn't free on TalkTalk, so we'd be no worse off!)

Any tips? :)

All the countries you want to call are included in Euphony's euTALK+18 CPS package.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or USA
There is a drawback - an 18 month contract - but, at £4.33/month (the averaged price over the initial 18 month contract) it works out cheaper than the TT offering:

BT line rental £10.75 (paid by DD after paper-free billing discount)
    euTALK+18

    £ 4.33

    £15.08

No need to remember any prefixes either (although there may be one - 18185 - you may want to use for calling UK mobiles and another - 1280 - to 'hop back onto' BT for some 084/087 calls. Please see the 'HERE' link in my signature below for details).

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. http://www.euphony.co.uk/euTalkPlus18.htm which MSE Martin recommends in his phone article here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1095003038,99872, see Main Provider.

    It offers

Inclusive calls to 01/02 Geographical Numbers.
Inclusive calls to landlines in Eire,Italy,US,and Norway and approx 24 more countries.

Just like Talk Talk,s offering its an 18 month contract and averages out at £4.33p a month over the 18 months.Their is no connection charge where as Talk Talk charge £29.99p.
    http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-server-PageServer?article=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.STATIC.TARIFFS.TALK3INT

You still keep your BT Landline at £11 or £10.75p a month as its cps, so you can still use https://www.18185.co.uk for cheaper mobile calls.

Wasn't even aware of it - I have to admit the plethora of horror stories I've read just causes me to ignore TT totally.

  • Wow, that's fantastic... Thanks guys!!
  • Just spoke to one of my housemates about it, and she's not entirely happy because she phones mobiles a lot, so 9.9p is steep for her... :(

She's obviously not aware of Talk Talk's 12½p/20½p weekday rates then!

One thing to note is that, although TT's offering is inclusive of calls up to 70 minutes to UK 01/02 numbers and their selected of 30 countries, Euphony's is only 60 minutes. Both allow 'redial to avoid charges' though.

Get a kitchen countdown timer if there's a gossip in the house!
