Have you thoght of Broughton-in-Furness? There's some really good pubs there - including the Manor Arms (b and b only - but local good pubs and restaurant 2 mins walk!) ot The Prince of Wales at Foxfield, which is also the home of the Foxfield Brewery.

Or, if you want it a bit posher, but still with good beer, try The Old Kings Head, also in Broughton (can you tell I like the place?:rotfl: )
Have a look at the website for more info.

If you're still keen on Esdkale, I would recommend Brook House - see here

    HTH

PS Camra also do a v good book called Beer, bed and breakfast - a new edition is just out. Your local library might stock it.

The area is lovely and this pub is dog friendly and only a few minutes from the beach. They have a selction of beers but also brew their own on site. Accomodation is good though can be noisey at weekends and in the peak summer time.

How about The Wye Valley? My friend runs a lovely B&B https://www.oldbreweryhouse.com and we have lots and lots of nice pubs. We are on Offa's Dyke and Wye Valley Walks, plus on the edge of the Forest of Dean.
