Sorry, i haven't posted for a while now!

I am feeling the urge to weigh myself for the first time in a while, but still haven't bought any scales. I might ask a friend if i can use hers after Easter.

Glad to see some new people here, welcome :)

Thanks for the link Mildred, interesting reading! I have had enough of dieting, and do not believe it works at all, hence the reason i started this thread. I am fed up of listening to people talk about calories/points/fat grams/carbs...i just want to eat normally and lose a bit of weight :D

It might not be very MSE but every now and again, I'll pay to weigh myself in Boots on the machine that tells you your % of body fat. I only do it twice a year, but I like it if you've been working out but your weight hasn't shifted, as at least you see the % change.

I've been trying to live by this approach for a while, but I've fallen into a bad slump at the moment - I know you will all know the hate spiral you can get into... It's nice being able to come read about your real time successes though, and it's reminding me not to waste my money on another FAD diet book to motivate me out of this.

I know what I can do when I'm sensible, and you're all evidence of it! I'm still going to take it one step further than I did before and sign up for a 5k run in July. I can't run at all right now, but I'm determined to make it!

Ooh that sounds great! I did the couch to 5k plan at the end of last year and loved it - went from struggling to run 60 seconds at a time to running 20 mins plus fairly easily! i've injured my leg somehow though which has set me back a bit and sucks :( Hopefully I'll get back to it, I'd love to sign up for a 5k!

Hello! Hope you are enjoying some sunshine :)
Just wanted to say - don't loose heart.
I thought my weight had stabilised, and wasn't going to move.
But, in the last few weeks it started falling off - hoorah.
Back in 16s jeans! My main 'stumbling block' was the after dinner ice cream, checked the packet and it said 300kcals (eek) cut that out, replaced with fresh fruit and sorbet.
Best wishes everyone and have a great weekend

Hi All, how are you all doing?

I am still plodding along in my size 14s :D
I still have not weighed myself, and truly believe that its the best decision for me. I just get too hung up on numbers else :)

How is everyone doing with the dreaded 'E' word (exercise)? I have definitely got better at this, although there is much more room for improvement! I walk as much as possible now instead of using the car. In fact, i am saving myself money in petrol as i walk to the SM (a 5 min walk!) whereas before i used to drive.

Would LOVE to get back into my size 12s...we'll see!
