Insurance quotes already rising

Just got a car (VW Up) direct line quote done yesterday to start 22/11/2012 : £575 (includes 17 year old daughter as named driver, just passed test) today's quote for exactly same details £815, Imthink this is probably now because within the 30 days ( for which you can save a quote) of the gender pricing rule!! Fortunately I saved and retrieved prev quote ( and bought via quidco)

If this is an additional car, have you used any no claims bonus?
  • Yes did use 9years + no claims, am happy with £575 quote (far more reasonable than most, just alerting people to rise. NB got quote for my other car with no no claims but no 17 year old for £290

Ours have gone down for the last 2 years in a row, mainly due to the crack down on uninsured drivers in Bradford reducing the risk in the area. Happy days

My insurance quote came through from Direct Line the other day, it was pretty much exactly the same as last year, and when I rang up to take my father of the insurance (he's given up driving), it went down by about £30.

L&G has started neutral gender pricing life cover from today, I got an email this morning, so it's likely some of the motor insurers are doing the same.
