  • Hi DD,

Good luck with your challenge. Sounds like a similar amount to me per month but I've got a loooooonger way to go.

Each month I'll be paying £510pcm to a loan and £200+ to credit cards.

What is your tactic? Money straight out of your pay or are you trying to up your income to pay it off?

I'm doing surveys, mystery shopping and selling bits and pieces to get some extra dosh to go towards my highest interest credit card.

Hopefully it's doable and I can stay on top of the extra payments. Got some good news today in that my OH got a permanent job so I've got renewed motivation for hammering the debts rather than trying to keep any extra I make in case we need it for bills.

  • How are you planning on doing that andy? Are you cutting back or going to work more? Just interested on how others plan to clear debts.

I am going to do mine by cutting back. I do have a 2nd job as well which I want to save that so I have some emergency funds built up for myself

  • I've been swithering about whether to join .... was a bit worried people would think I was (not quite sure how to put it) rubbing it in as I've only got a small amount to pay back compared to most.

I could pay it off from the boiler savings & my budgeting pots (so you could say on paper that I'm really DF) - but I really don't want to do this as these are budgeted amounts to pay for things IYKWIM?

Although it's small amount, it will take me probably more than a year to pay off as my budget is really tight.:(
