Selling: Came back from holiday to find damp on day the house got an offer

Hi,
We came back from 2 soggy yet relaxing weeks in Cornwall to find damp showing in one of our walls & on the same day the EA phoned with an offer we accepted.
Now the area in question was treated for damp when we moved in 6 years ago with a 20 year guarantee. I've contacted the firm who will have someone out to inspect on the 5th Nov and hopefully we can get it sorted quickly - it's not a large area visible, but I'm aware it could be bigger than we can see.
My question is this: the surveyor is due our to house next week. Should I
- just wait for the report & then bring up the guarantee + our intent to fix this
- or show it to the surveyor when he inspects?
Fortunately the guarantee can be signed over to the new owner at a £3.50 cost (ours) so we sent a copy into our solicitor when we did all the paperwork.

Get the damp company in before the surveyor or even on the same day - speak to someone senior because 5 November is not good enough. not sure why you agreed to have the buyers surveyor in first, as a buyer I'd be annoyed that you allowed me to pay for a survey without admitting to or getting the new damp patch checked first.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Are you assuming that they won't just do a kerbside valuation or have you been told that the buyers are having a full survey done?You had me at your proper use of "you're".0

The date for the buyer's surveyor was set over the phone while I was in the car on the way back from Cornwall. I hardly expected to get back to damp.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -

I have no idea if this is full structural survey or just a valuation survey. I just have a date & know I need to be home that day to let them in & move the dogs into the garden.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0
