Take your time Skipton

Rang them up today to see if my mums main large ISA transfer to them request had arrived. It had. Asked when they would send the request to the BS who hold it now, they said they would try to send it within 5 days. That seems awfully slow ?I presumed they would send form off by the next working day after receiving it.

  • OH transfered ISA from Nationwide to Skipton very recently and the whole process was very quick. Most impressed that they sent out transfer forms really quickly when we were unsure which one to use.

Skipton have, like every other bank/BS, up to 5 working days to request the funds from the old provider.

NB - do you have POA for your mum? If not, you (and she) should be very concerned that they tell you anything about your mum's ISA.

Point taken innovate, I have written permissions held by her main bank for day to day activities on it but not on BS's or banks for her savings that dont need much attention. POA in place but not registered yet . I dont want to do that before I have to . I understand what you are saying innovate and I agree , except I expect them to show a little flexibility where the questions asked and answered, do not lead to any possibility of funds being misappropriated, such as has something arrived. They did query it to be fair, and would only say they had received communication regarding the account number I gave them , and then answered a general question that I asked as to how long it would be before a received application would be sent on to the institution holding the funds. I was satisfied with that - sometimes Im tearing my hair out as my mum is stone deaf , to deal with the simplest of queries (which dont involve any risk whoever I was) because they simply refuse to speak to me at all. Mostly I can operate mums stuff online thank goodness.
Re the 5 days, hopefully then as in Thrupnybits case (thanks for that) they will be quick.
