Baby monitors direct

I bought a video monitor back at the end of Jan and on 28th aug it would no longer turned on. I immediately contacted BMD and emailed a return notice telling me to send it back and if it was proven to be faulty they would refund me the postage. It also said upon receipt in their warehouse it would take 14 days maximum and they would be in touch to agree a solution. The warehouse received it on 4th sept and buy th 24th i still had heard nothing. I contacted them and they said they would ring me back, they emailed then saying it had been sent to tomy and they would get back in touch as soon as the knew the problem. By the 15th Oct i still had heard nothing and was forced to lay out more money and buy a new monitor, i contacted them again ad was told it had never been sent to Tomy and i requested a refund. I was told this was fine. I waited a week and still no refund i called them yesterday and they have now told me i cannot have a refund as i had had the monitor for 7 months, they admitted that Tomy could not help on this occasion, they offered me another monitor ( cheaper and not like for like) or as a gesture of goodwill they would give me store credit to the price of the monitor. I told them that this was unreasonable as they had admitted it had a fault that even the manufacturer could not fix and as they had not resolved their problem within their self imposed time limits, not offered me a replacements and i had been put through financial hardship because of their lack of help. They are still refusing a refund surely that is not right ??????

It's up to the store to state whether they offer a refund, repair or replacement.
I would write to them stating that as they took two months to offer you a credit note, despite informing you after X weeks it was faulty, that this is unacceptable as you have already had to buy another baby monitor, so are requesting a refund.
Ultimately, if they won't refund, you could try taking them to court, but legally I believe the offer of a credit note is acceptable.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
