Offered by whom?
Generally, if the previous owner (assuming this is second-hand), filled in the warranty card, then the warranty will be in their name and I doubt it'll be transferrable. If they didn't then I'd advise getting a copy of their original receipt, or other form of proof of purchase should you try to contact the manufacturer in the future. You won't have any consumer rights against the retailer as you were not the consumer.0 -

As a manufacturer's (or retailer's) warranty is in addition to your statutory rights, they can put in place whetever restrictions they like.
Also worth remembering that you will have no statutory rights against Currys, as you didn't make the purchase.0 -
The man who has offered me the washer has told me he will print out a reciept that he got from Currys online. S o will have proof of purchase date

What make of cooker is it?
The warranty terms for most companies can usually be found on their websites.0 -
Also remember that if the gentleman is a private individual (and not acting the course of a business) then the item only needs to match its description. It is usually a case of "buyer beware".
When purchasing 2nd hand items I always take this into consideration. If there's only a small amount knocked off the retail price, I'd prefer to pay the extra and know that should anything go wrong that isnt my fault, I can rely on the SoGA.

I hope he didnt buy it for her birthday. If my OH bought me a kitchen appliance for a anniversary/birthday/xmas.....the only thing that'd be cooking would be him from the roasting i'd give him :X
Then again I cant imagine that many men would buy their spouses such a large kitchen appliance let alone without their wife picking it or going with them to pick it.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
update Currys warranty covered by the item and not the buyer I just quote the seriel number and we are good to go
