proof of statute barred ccjs

Hi, can anyone help me, my home contents insurer wants me to prove I had a CCJ, (when the loss adjuster interviewed me I told him I had a CCJ not realising it was over 7 years old and wouldn't come up on a credit search) if it is statue barred how can I prove I had it and paid it off I have moved since then and got married and changed my name, I cant even remember which address it was at. I know it was for a HP thing and it was for about £80/90. it was the result of moving about a lot (6 times in 1 year) and losing track of the last payment of a HP agreement. it was paid of about a year after it was registered (found out about it when I did a credit check for a new car). If I can't prove I had it will it effect my home contents claim?

Sorry if this post is in the wrong area.

you could try looking on your credit files but if its over 6 years old it may not be on there now..

If the judgement date is over 6 years ago then it won't be on the credit ref agencies or the registry trust. Don't waste money checking.

So I presume you are trying to get proof that you paid this off?

I would just tell them that you now realise that as it was paid and more than 6 years ago, then it has been removed from the court register. So it is not possible to get records of it any more. If you had nbver said, they would never have known.
