Friday 12th October - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning Moneysavers. Today I am gonna be grateful for all the things I DO have. Last night I watched episodes one and two of "Welcome to India" and was reminded of this. The people in the documentary had so little unyet they were reducing, reusing and recycling their hearts out to build better lives for themselves. If you want to see what I mean it's on http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01ncbyn/Welcome_to_India_Episode_2/
On today's list there are some things I didn't get around to doing yesterday.
:staradmin: [STRIKE]One Poll.[/STRIKE] In a month I should be able to claim my £40.
:staradmin: [STRIKE]Look for more Quidco No Brainers.[/STRIKE]
:staradmin: [STRIKE]Daily click on Kelkoo through Quidco to earn 1p for a search.[/STRIKE]
:staradmin: [STRIKE]Check to see if I can trade my recycling for Tesco Clubcard points at my local Tesco: [/STRIKE]http://www.tesco.com/greenerliving/g...ocations.page?
:staradmin: [STRIKE]Check to see if I can trade my old ink cartridges for Tesco Clubcard points: [/STRIKE]http://www.therecyclingfactory.com/tesco
:staradmin: Think of something fun and free to do on my day off.
:staradmin: [STRIKE]Pay an extra 77p off my credit card. Every little helps![/STRIKE]
:staradmin: Do all my Christmas shopping today. :xmastree:
Have a good day; make the most of the luxuries we do have.

Morning all and thanks for starting the thread ally. I saw desperate poverty in Bulgaria too, with mini villages made from corrugated tin and fertilizer bags. Certainly made me come home a better person.
It's a Stitching Witch day today so I'm a happy bunny :j:j:j
So far today:- breakfast from stores
- fed and watered the chickens
- made DH a packed lunch
- checked banking
- checked for surveys
- phone BGas chasing the refund they promised 6 weeks ago
- phone Council re change of income for HB claim
- spend 5 hours in sewing room making stuff for Xmas fair
- lunch from stores
- try to source packaging from Eb*y - the paper bags with clear plastic fronts. I'm sure I bought some locally about 12 years ago, but can't remember where from

- collect DGD from school and take her home

Hello there ladies

I'm a lady too
Here's me:
- Checked banking - £100 I wasn't expecting came out
- I thought because I'd paid over this to the cc then it wouldn't take the set-up direct debit (the online screen said 'we have received your payment'). Have had to transfer £100 to that a/c so now I start next month £100 down. Roll on overtime - will make it up on Saturday, but that money was meant to go towards a new bedroom carpet.
- Gave OH a stern talking to re his money management  - I'm taking all his money off him next month and giving him an allowance!
- Got my £20 desk and chair from gumtree - is fabby!!! I'm going to try my hand at reupholstering the chair… Let's see how that goes. :rotfl:
- Cheapo can of soup for lunch
- Make an appearance at the pub tonight - either drive and have a soft drink or get the bus (already got bus pass) and have a wee drinkypop/2 max.
- Take pass to pub as get 10% off
- Think of something nice and easy for tea so we're not tempted by take away
- Tidy round even just one box/pile of stuff.
- Proofread/helped OH with his app form for permanent job. Pretty please...
Happy Friday!
Lotsa love

Just not remembering when/how much monthly direct debits are coming out or whether they've come out already and spending his money without thinking how much needs to stay in his a/c to cover them. Then transferred money from the joint a/c to cover his own dds, which meant we wouldn't have had enough in the joint a/c to cover household bills (if my beady eye hadn't been on the ball
) - he didn't do this on the sly or anything, it's just the expectation that the joint a/c or me will bail him out if he goes overdrawn etc...
I'm not really going to give him an allowance as such - just both going to pool our wages, leave enough to cover personal a/c bills and take out an equal amount of 'pocket money' for the month.
The guy next to me in work is a car geek and a penny pincher - great combo - font of useful knowledge
