Just got a question that I hope someone can answer for me here ...
I want to buy a laptop from my sister - she doesn't need one any more. I want to make a payment to here via Paypal to her Paypal account, but using my credit card.
If I pay her and call it 'Goods' or 'Services', will the amount be debited from my credit card as a 'cash' advance or classed as a purchase (like a store/website purchase etc) - obviously, I want to avoid paying a higher interest on my CC for cash transactions...
Any ideas?
Thanks....

Should go as a purchase, but one of you is going to have to pay the 3.4% +20 Paypal fee on the payment.0

Yeah the fee is fine, I just dont want my credit card taking it as a cash advance and then occurring interest. As I currently have 0% to Next July on purchases.0

Do you live near her? Could you simply go shopping with her and pay for her groceries for the next 2 months, or fill her car up weekly etc? Or find somebody else that's about to buy stuff with cash and use your card/take their cash and hand it over?
I'd not want to 'waste' money going through Paypal.
I've heard there IS a way to pay via Paypal without the fees, but I think it's a bit of faffing about (possibly setting up a bulk payment, but only having her email on the list).0 -
She needs the money now, so thats not an option. I just need to be certain that it will be classed as a purchased on my credit card. I phoned my credit card company and the guy had limited english but did think it would be.0

I just made a small payment using paypal to her and the transaction on Paypal says the following:
Status:
Completed
Your transfer from your credit card to your PayPal account is complete.0 -
Just want to say it worked :-)0
