help with sorting my garden please
Hi there all
Im hoping you guys can help me out. Its about my veggie patch.
I live in a rented house and the garden, although a good size is in a right state. Its ( we think) east facing, and has a wall on one side with the neighbours massive tree on the other side of the wall. To the other side theres a short fence.
The garden itself is basically a huge tarpaulin covered in gravel.
I was thinking of pulling back the tarp and getting rid of it all, ( huge job!) and laying a B&Q prerolled turf lawn and having my veg growing along the wal. Now Ive just gone out there to get stuck in and IM worried that its too shaded. The sun is now on the fence side and thats where its the brightest all day.
This in mind, shall I lay the turf up to the wall and do my veggie patch in the sunniest bit. Or do they need shade as well
I have v little time- I tohught my plans were set, but now I have to a) decide and b) do it TODAY, otherwisse I wont have time at all to get the beans and other summer veg in the ground ( work v long hours)
Your thoughts greatly appreciated

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I suppose it depends a lot on what you are going to grow, but most of the plants we grow in this country like a bit of both sun and shade I think. If it was my garden I would do as you thought second and put the veg in the sunniest part of the garden.
At least you won't have weeds to worry about to begin with as the tarp will have suppressed them. Why don't you just concentrate on the veg bit for the moment and then rather than laying expensive turf, seed the grass in the Autumn. That's the best time for starting a new lawn anyway.
Good luck with it all
