Clothes... do they sell better if pictured on a model or a coat hanger

I have some clothes to sell, just wondered what the general consensus of opinion is, would a buyer prefer to see items displayed-

a) Modelled by a person

b) On a tailor's dummy

3) On a Coat hanger

Thanks for any advice

pmsl My daughter has agreed to model them, well let's face it, they are mainly her clothes, albeit I paid for them:rotfl:

    It's true though isn't it!

If I see an item being worn by someone who is ermm... a bit on the unconventional side - it does tend to put me off.

If it's a nice dress with a jacket, say for a wedding or something, then it often looks good on a tailors dummy.

For a pair or jeans then laid out flat on the floor or bed.

Plenty of pics and without distracting things in the background. I often make decisions based on the kind of house they're in. If the house looks nice I can assume that the item is in good nick.
Just run, run and keep on running!

  • OMG, better wait till I've moved house then, this place is like a bomb site at the moment:eek:
  • It always makes me laugh when someone lists something as Brand New while showing it modelled by someone. I NEVER buy anything listed this way, I know that a lot of things I buy are used but I don't need to see the evidence of this.
As a seller I think on a coat hanger, laid flat out or on a dummy are all great.

Would agree with this, I'd be slightly put off by someone wearing it.

Thank you for that very constructive reply, I shall heed your words:beer:

Rushes around to get the tailor's dummy out and dust it over:rotfl: and tell's daughter " OK, you can stop sucking in your stomach";)

If you buy something in a shop also perceived to be Brand New, it could have been tried on by X amount of people.
  • That's a very valid comment shakka.
