Which part of the DLA letter do you use as proof of DLA?

Hello,

Hope someone can help. I receive DLA and got a 5 page letter and the last page is the entitlement summary in a square box which says what rate I receive and until what date etc.

My question is, what part of the 5 page letter is good enough as proof of DLA when having to show proof of DLA to different organisations etc? The whole 5 page letter? or just the page that shows the "entitlement summary"?

Hope someone can help.

Page one should do it. It shows the date it started and the date it finishes, the last page is for your information.
  • I'm just using page 1 to send to Student Loans Company this weekend... it documents the amount and from when it'll be paid. But it surely depends what information the organisation to which you're sending it needs.

The cheekiest thing I have seen done with a DLA award was sending it to a insurance company and asking for an annuity quote based on that award! Almost as bad as trying to make out that you are at death's door to get an increase in the annuity rate.

allsorts of health problems can and do lead to better annuity rates, essential at a time when annuity returns are at a low thanks to quantative easing
