How much are you paying for your broadband?

Hi guys,

I am currently paying £25.00 per month for mine, 10MB (or whatever measurement). I do not have the landline or the tv channels with it.

Do you think the price I mentioned is a bit steep? I have been with them for about 5/6 years now.

How much are you paying from Broadband alone if you have it?

Thanks

  • Plusnet Value: If you live in a low cost area it costs £6.49 a month. If you live outside one of these areas it costs £6.49 a month for the first three months, then £12.99 a month.

The only people that sell stand alone broadband is Virgin Media i assume thats who you are with. But i suspect as a long standing customer who is out of contract you could get price down ,speed up if you wanted to stay with them.

Plusnet Extra broadband and anytime calls, 60Gb monthly allowance. £10/month. Plus Plusnet line rental paid in advance, £9.49/month.
You're paying far too much considering the 5/6 years "loyalty" and that it's broadband only. That's what I understand from your OP. " I do not have the landline or the tv channels with it.".
  • I pay 25 pounds a month for Zen - 100GB download limit. Worth every penny. Used to be with O2 until they cancelled my unlimited package (was on Access) put me on 40GB limit (useless for me) and increased the price to 20 pounds 50 per month (with 5 pounds discount for being an iPhone contract user, so it would be 25 pounds) which was pants!

Got my MAC and off to Zen who I have to say are awesome!

£25 a month sounds like your wasting money.

You could probably get broadband & line rental + weekend/evening calls for £25 if you shop around, add on cash-back and your laughing.

I'm paying £17.99 for the broadband element of plusnet extra and that's in a non-LLU area which is part of the 10%, line rental paid for in advance (£9.49 a month), plus Talk Anytime at £3 a month.

I value service and customer services have been helpful the times I've contacted them, nice to get customer services based in the UK
  • £27 for Sky Broadband + Unlimited landline.

Depends whether you value service over cost, I value service.
  • £13 for unlimited download and landline for us at the moment! Once our 6 months are up it will be £25
    Save, save, save, save.
  • Yes, I am with Virgin. I will start shopping around this week I think

Sadly, I am a heavy user so need the 100GB that Zen give me for that money. I was paying 20 pounds 50 pence to O2 for what ended up a 40GB limit. Zen are a little more expensive but a Which Best Buy for a reason. I don't think I am over-paying, this was the best deal for me.

I'm with BE. I'm currently paying under £30 per month for Landline+Anytime calls+Unlimited broadband. The only extra is chargeable calls (such as to mobiles) but I can use services like 18185 if I choose.
