I cleaned mine the other day and it looks like new the first time in a year..
I used hob brite which was given to me by my motherinlaw so not sure where it's from...I put it on and rubbed it with a scourer..The cheap ones with sponge underneath and green scratchy stuff on top...scrubbed with the green stuff...I scrubbed it twice and then ground in marks I used the scraper i got with my oven it..I was a bit scared to use it at first but it looks as good as new0 -

Well hob-bright just doesn't do it.
Brillos & Fairy Power spray work.
Yes there is a little scratching (or wear), but its better than burnt bits.
I think you need a tougher cleaner than hob-bright.0 -
Have you got a hob blade scraper, they look like paint stanley blade scrapers, in fact I think they are the same.
They are great & don't scratch at all.
I use that, brillos & a the Fairy Power Spray.

If hob-brite is not working try a tub of Astonish paste. It will do the job abd should only cost around a pound.Middlers0
