I have an ipod (4th generation) had it for over a year, I did the update yesterday and have not yet connected the ipod to my computer. If and when I do and the updates follow on to the ipod, what should I expect? And more to the point, should I even bother connecting things up?

In the past when they have had issues they've normally added another update quite soon after to fix the error, I'm thinking they will do this soon and just wonder if I hang on long enough not updating my ipod, they'll sort things out.

Itunes on my computer so far seems to be working fine though- is this what everyone else has found? Or are there errors I need to stay clear of? (I have Vista/quite old desktop)

Updated my 2 year old ipod, only difference I have noticed is the passbook app, other than that it all looks the same.

For the Maps issue, a simple app update won't solve the problem. It's the data that they are using that is faulty. Google took years to map out the world using satellite images, streetview cars etc. Apple can't replicate that in a few weeks or months

Anyone noticed that built-in keyboard short cuts only work sporadically?
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.

I updated my iPhone 4 the other day. As soon as I powered it back up a message flashed up to tell me my storage was almost full. I checked in Settings to find there was 500MB in use and 13GB free. I restarted the phone and again received the storage almost full message. I ignored it and restored my data from the backup I took before updating. Once all my apps and music were back on the message stopped.

God knows what that was all about.
  • My App Store currency is showing as dollars. How do I change this?

    Thanks :(
  • I have an iPhone 4s and my OH has an iPhone 4, we both updated on the day the update was released. We didn't appear to have any issues but I then went to phone my Nan and her telephone number was missing from her contact details as were a few others, the same for my OH when he went to call his brother. Anyone else had this happen?

I did my iPad 3 last night, it took in total 1hr.

    You loose:

You Tube (but there is now an App.)
    Google Map
    Street View

    You gain:

Apple Map (which is poor compare to Google Maps)
    Siri (Nothing special IMHO)
    WiFi that now keeps dropping
    A slower OS

So all in all iOS6 is Crap....

Thanks.. Looks like I won't be 'upgrading' my New iPad. My 4 year old son loves Youtube and Google Maps.. I very much like Google Maps too. Will Google Maps be available later as downloadable app?

  • Fastcompany have a pretty good guide on alternatives to the new Apple maps app, at least until Google do release a Google Maps App
