I did my iPad 3 last night, it took in total 1hr.

You loose:

You Tube (but there is now an App.)
Google Map
Street View


You gain:

Apple Map (which is poor compare to Google Maps)
Siri (Nothing special IMHO)
WiFi that now keeps dropping
A slower OS

So all in all iOS6 is Crap....

My iPhone 4 has gained in 3G reception having been unable to get 3G within my works concrete fortress I have now got 3 bars and 3G after the io6. Sadly lost the YouTube app but easy enough to add that to home screen via safari

There is a You Tube App (free) released by Google the other day which works well (like the old one better, but this has added features)

It's the Crap inaccurate Apple Maps that's the biggest loss IMHO, Google was far clearer, accurate and had Street View. Apples 3D View is very poor and only works in big cities.

Siri is better but asking a plank of wood was better than the old Siri, so it's still crap.

There are other little things I keep find which are starting to bug me; ie before you could hold the ,! Key to get a ' now you have to slide you finger over, only a little thing but its already bugging me & again when you held the .com key you could slide to get .co.uk which you still can but its now in a different place....I could go on and on and on.

My advice is stick with iOS5.1 until an update to iOS6 has been released.

One advantage of the new maps is that they're vector-based instead of image-based. For example, instead of downloading the image of a thick line marking a street with its name on it, it downloads an instruction to draw a line between two points and the name of the street in text format. This massively reduces the amount of data and time to load a map. It also means that zooming in and out doesn't require the map to be re-downloaded, because the phone already has the vector-based data for what's on the screen.

Whenever I press one of the Facebook links in my contacts it opens my Lloyds Mobile Banking app instead of Facebook.
YouTube app has vanished.
AppleTV finally autocorrects capitalisation though :-P

Does anyone know if iOS 5 will still be available to update to now 6 has been released? I have an ipad 1 and have put off updating to 5 as the last time l updated my ipad was a lot slower, however there are some apps l use which require iOS 5 so l should l update it now if there is a chance l wont be able to soon?

iOS 6 is not available for the iPad 1. The latest is iOS5, so if you try to update your iOS to the latest version, you'll get iOS5. I would recommend this so you get useful features like iMessage.
